This workshop is intended to provide aspiring small business owners with an overview of many of the issues involved in planning and launching a new business venture. Topics include personal and lifestyle issues of the entrepreneur/business owner, the legal, financial and tax considerations of starting a small business, and the “how-to’s” of business registration, government regulations and compliance issues. Attendees will also be introduced to the beginning steps of developing a sound business plan. Upon completion of the workshop, attendees will be invited to schedule a free, one-on-one consulting session with an SBDC Business Consultant. Special Presenter: A financing professional from F&M Trust will present the financial portion of the workshop

The J.A. Titan challenge helwas a success! The event was held simultaneously at two local colleges, 44 teams competed at Central Pennsylvania College and 77 teams participated at Penn State York. The teams consisted of students in groups of 2 or 3 and the team companies, marketed and produced virtual “hologenerators”, a fictional product that projects 3D holographic music videos in the palm of your hand. First place winner was two Central York High School students David Abror and Anthony Basso, the owners of company “Googles FedDes, Inc.”, the companies “Smallturbo” from Spring Grove and “MD Washon Inc.” were the 2 runners-up. Approximately 250 students participated in the event.
